Day 6: Loch Awe to Glen Orchy

Today's path took us up Glen Orchy from Dalmally on a track that led at times right by the River Orchy, at times rather more distant, but almost always in sight or smell or sound of the rush and bubble of the water. I love how we got to know so many of the river's twists and turns, widths and depths, banks and beaches, as we continued mile by mile, and how we shared its heat and cool, its light and shade; its noise, and its silence.

We sat by it for lunch, waded through it near the broken bridge, swam in it to cool down, and camped by it for a peaceful night. An idyllic river, and a happy companion for our day's journeying.
